As Sherrone Moore’s coaching staff has taken shape over the last few weeks, one of the biggest question marks remaining was running backs coach Mike Hart. The former U-M running back joined Harbaugh’s staff back in 2021, and he’s been key member of the football staff ever since. On Friday, the Detroit News reported that Hart is not expected to return as part of the staff in 2024.

Additional reporting has suggested that Hart hasn’t been with the program since Michigan won the 2024 national championship, and that he’s been dealing with some personal issues that are unrelated to football.

Regardless of the reasoning behind it, Hart’s departure means that Sherrone Moore will be tasked with filling another critical role on his coaching staff in the coming days.
