The Wolverines might not have had the draft many thought they would have — Michigan didn’t break Georgia’s record for the most players drafted by a single team in a single draft. But Michigan did have a successful draft by breaking its own school record of 13 players drafted. The previous record was 11 back in 2017.
Michigan had one first-round selection which was star QB J.J. McCarthy who was picked up No. 10 overall by the Minnesota Vikings. The Wolverines, after winning a national title in 2023, were a popular team for NFL teams to pick players from.
With Michigan having 13 players drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft, there were several Wolverines who didn’t hear their name called during the seven-round draft. But as soon as the draft ended, those undrafted free agents started getting calls.
