While Michigan lost some players from its roster to the transfer portal, there weren’t any significant departures from the Wolverines football program. The most notable losses were DBs Keon Sabb and DJ Waller Jr. who both left for SEC schools — Alabama and Kentucky, respectively.
The Wolverines depth was hit some, but Michigan can fix that on its own by looking into the transfer portal to bring in some talent. According to 247Sports, it’s looking likely that the Wolverines are set to bring in a couple of players via the portal.
The first is the Wolverines’ long-lost friend, Amorion Walker. The WR/CB entered the portal following Michigan’s national championship win over Washington and after Jim Harbaugh departed for the NFL. Walker quickly chose to head south for Ole Miss, but Walker recently re-entered the portal.
Since entering the portal, Walker has had two Crystal Ball predictions that points him in Michigan’s direction. Both Matt Zenitz, a national reporter, and TMI’s Sam Webb both having Walker coming back to Ann Arbor for his junior season.

Walker began his Michigan career as a WR, but then transitioned to a CB a season ago — where Jim Harbaugh labeled him as a ‘unicorn’ for how great he looked during spring camp. Walker, who battled a few injuries, struggled to find much playing time in the secondary as a sophomore. Michigan needs some help at both WR and CB, and with Walker’s 6-foot-3 frame, the Wolverines could place him at either spot for added depth and competition.
Speaking of WRs, the Wolverines were recently projected to land a graduate student from the state of Ohio. Sam Webb also placed a Crystal Ball for Michigan to land Youngstown State WR, CJ Charleston.

Charleston, a 6-foot WR, played all four seasons at Youngstown State. He had his best season yet in 2023. Charleston played in all 13 games catching 33 passes for 503 yards and four scores — those were his first four touchdown passes of his career.
Charleston has reported offers from both Mercer and Michigan.
