It’s that time of the year for NFL rookies, as several former Wolverines have arrived to their new facilities in the league to report for rookie camp. Part of the process includes getting acclimated with the new facilities and fitted with new gear.

A number of photos have surfaced over the last 24 hours showing a handful of Wolverines going through the process, including Mike Barrett (Carolina), Mike Sainristil (Washington), Roman Wilson (Pittsburgh), Junior Colson (Los Angeles Chargers), and Cornelius Johnson (Los Angeles Chargers).

Fans were wondering if Sainristil would be able to retain the No. 0 jersey at the next level, but he revealed on Thursday that he’ll be wearing No. 2 to begin his NFL career.

Former Michigan linebacker Junior Colson gets fitted for his shoulder pads and helmet with the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chargers showed the incredible moment when Colson arrived at camp, greeted by head coach Jim Harbaugh and defensive coordinator Jesse Minter – both coaches he played for during his time at Michigan.

The Minnesota Vikings recently released a video from JJ McCarthy’s first meeting with new head coach Kevin O’Connell shortly after the draft. O’Connell made sure to tell JJ to save the X’s and O’s for another day, and to just enjoy his time getting acclimated to Minnesota.

There are a whole host of other Wolverines who will be breaking in new gear with new teams in the coming days. Michigan had a program record 13 players selected in this year’s NFL Draft, more than any other program in the country. McCarthy’s selection in the first round at No. 10 overall was the highest that a Michigan quarterback was ever taken in the NFL Draft, and it was the highest QB pick the Vikings have ever made in franchise history. Kris Jenkins (Cincinnati) was the second Wolverine off the board in the second round, followed by Mike Sainristil to the Washington Commanders (also in the second round).
