No matter how hard the critics try to dismiss Michigan’s tremendous success over the last three years, the numbers speak for themselves. Head coach Jim Harbaugh has led his Wolverines to an impressive 40-3 overall record dating back to the 2021 season, which is second only to the Georgia Bulldogs (42-2). Unlike the Bulldogs, however, the Michigan Wolverines currently have the longest active streak in the AP Top 5 at 31 weeks.

Michigan also holds the fourth longest active streak in college football in the AP top 25 at 46 weeks (2021-23).

During the 2023 season, Michigan was the only team in FBS to finish with a perfect 15-0 record en route to winning the 12th national championship in program history. Michigan also became the first (and only) Big Ten program to go 15-0 in a single season, while Jim Harbaugh became the first head coach in Big Ten history to win three consecutive outright conference championships.

There are plenty of questions marks as Michigan looks forward to the 2024 season, but there’s absolutely no denying that the Wolverines have firmly established themselves as the kings of college football for the time being.
