Just about every player had announced their decision to either enter the 2024 NFL draft, or to go back to college for their senior season. But in the case of Michigan footballs safety Quinten Johnson — that decision took a little longer.

Johnson announced on Friday evening that he would forgo his sixth year of eligibility in Ann Arbor and enter his name into the ’24 draft. He announced his decision via his Instagram page.

In 2023, Johnson was a rotational piece for the Wolverines’ elite defense. He appeared in all 15 games on special teams and played defensive back in 14 contests; made 22 tackles with one interception among five pass breakups and forced one fumble to earn his fourth varsity letter.

He was an unsung hero against Alabama in the Rose Bowl. He forced a crucial fumble against QB Jalen Milroe and also recorded two tackles while playing the Crimson Tide.

The Maryland native with now enter his name into the draft and work to make an NFL roster next fall.
