After an 18-month battle with cancer, former Michigan Football defensive standout Craig Roh passed away at the age of 33, his wife announced on social media.

During his four seasons at Michigan from 2009-2012, Roh set a program record with 51 starts – including 20 starts at outside linebacker, 29 starts at defensive end, and 2 starts at defensive tackle. As a senior, Roh earned All-Big Ten second team honors and was a recipient of the Katcher Award (a team award given to the most outstanding defensive lineman each season).

Roh’s family has set up a GoFundMe to help cover medial expenses and provide financial assistance as they navigate through this difficult time.

“For those of you who don’t know, in August 2022 Craig was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. For the past 18 months Craig has been battling and fighting through various cancer treatments. Craig did not want to go public with his diagnosis and battle because, in true Craig fashion, he did not want the attention to be on him. From chemo, to targeted therapy, to clinical trials at MD Anderson and in Honduras, Craig was resilient till the very end, but God brought him home on Monday, February 26th 2024.”
