According to MLive’s Aaron McMann, Michigan football wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy has a new title to his name, plus a nice pay raise heading into the 2024 football season.

Bellamy will stay on board with the Wolverines as their WR coach, but according to reports, he will also be the schools new passing game coordinator. With the added role heading into the season, Bellamy will also get a nice pay raise. Bellamy was making $375,000 but he will now make $600,000 in ’24 and will get another raise in 2025 making $650,000. The two-year deal will expire after the 2025 football season.

Bellamy, a former Michigan wide receiver, was brought back to Ann Arbor by Jim Harbaugh back in 2021 to become the wide receivers coach. He spent time a lengthy amount of time as the head coach at West Bloomfield High School. Bellamy has been a big part in reshaping the culture at Michigan and keeping him around the program was vital for the Wolverines and head coach Sherrone Moore.

With the losses of Roman Wilson and Cornelius Johnson, Bellamy will now be tasked with building back up the stable at Michigan with its receivers. The cupboard isn’t bare though. The Wolverines have talent like Semaj Morgan, Tyler Morris, Fred Moore, Karmello English, among other young guys that will hopefully fill the void of losing two veteran players.

Sherrone Moore retained most of Jim Harbaugh’s offensive staff. Moore promoted quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell to offensive coordinator and as of now, Mike Hart is still the running backs coach with Michigan. Bellamy stayed on board as the WR coach while adding passing game coordinator to his plate. Grant Newsome moved over to offensive line coach, and Moore went out and brought Steve Casula back from UMass to become the Wolverines’ tight end coach.
