Michigan football got its quarterback in the 2024 recruiting cycle after it landed one-time five-star Jadyn Davis.
It’s usually a good idea to grab a solid signal caller in every cycle and the Wolverines are still searching 2025 quarterbacks after putting all of their eggs into the Bryce Underwood basket — he ultimately committed to LSU. The Wolverines do have a commitment from three-star Carter Smith, but Michigan could be adding to that.
But Michigan is hoping to get some good news come April 14th when four-star Husan Longstreet will make his college decision. Longstreet announced he will commit to one of the following schools in April: Michigan, Oregon, UCLA, Ole Miss, Auburn, Louisville, Miami, or Texas A&M.
According to On3, Longstreet is the top uncommitted quarterback left in the 2025 cycle. But when you look at the Composite rankings, the 6-foot, 190-pound signal caller is the 94th-ranked recruit in the country and the No. 9 QB in the ’25 cycle.
Longstreet hails from Corona (CA) Centennial High and there isn’t a great beat on where he might commit to. Being a California kid, you might think he would say out West, but when you look at the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, two schools are standing out. Auburn holds a slight lead with a 24.7% chance at landing Longstreet. But the Wolverines are right on their tail. Michigan has a 21.6% chance at landing the four-star QB.
With Sherrone Moore taking the reins and promoting former QB coach Kirk Campbell to offensive coordinator, it might make for an intriguing landing spot for a kid like Longstreet. He would have to battle with a few guys in Ann Arbor, but he also would have an excellent chance at developing himself at Michigan.
