Dusty May got his first win as the Michigan basketball coach on Thursday — he was able to get veteran Will Tschetter to come back to Ann Arbor for the 2024-25 basketball season.

Tschetter announced on Instagram in a video that he would be back to play basketball under first-year head coach, Dusty May.

Tschetter never entered the transfer portal but rumors and speculation surrounded the redshirt sophomore on if he would be back in Ann Arbor for his junior season. Tschetter remained quiet until Thursday when he announced he would indeed be playing another season of basketball with the Wolverines.

The Minnesota native had an increased role this past season. He averaged nearly 18 minutes per game and put up 6.8 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. Tschetter was a key role player off the bench and always brought major energy to the court.

While the Michigan roster isn’t close to being complete yet, May will at the minimum have a nice role player to play next season in Ann Arbor.
