Blake Corum’s legacy in Ann Arbor is one that will live on forever. Helping lead the Wolverines to a national championship in 2023, Corum set new single-season records for rushing touchdowns (27), total touchdowns (28), and points scored (168) at the University of Michigan. Corum also set new career records in rushing touchdowns (58), total touchdowns (61), and points scored (356).

In addition to his excellence on the field, Corum spent much of his down time giving back to various Michigan communities. From donating hundreds of Thanksgiving turkeys, to holding a massive toy drive during the Christmas season, Corum’s commitment to giving back made a huge impact on thousands of families throughout the state of Michigan.

As a result of his incredible accomplishments at the University of Michigan, Corum was recently awarded with the 2024 Big Ten Medal of Honor – the highest honor that a student-athlete can receive from the conference.

The Big Ten Medal of Honor is awarded to one male and one female student from the graduating class of each member institution who has demonstrated excellence on and off the field throughout their college career. The highest honor that a student competing in conference athletics can achieve in the Big Ten, the award was established in 1915 and was the first award in intercollegiate athletics to demonstrate support for the educational emphasis placed on athletics. During the past century, the Big Ten Medal of Honor has been awarded to more than 1,300 honorees. These individuals have translated their campus experience into success in all walks of life.

Corum is now preparing for life after Michigan, as he figures to be one of the top running backs selected in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. Interestingly enough, the Chargers are currently the betting favorite to land Corum – a move that would reunite the record-setting running back with head coach Jim Harbaugh in Los Angeles. Appearing on the Zach Gelb Show back in January, Corum discussed the potential of playing for his collegiate head coach at the next level.

“You never know, coach might end up picking me up in the draft,” he said. “But whether he does or doesn’t I know he’s gonna be such a successful head coach as he always has been. I know the LA Chargers are gonna do big things with coach Harbaugh in charge.”
