Things have been slow for Michigan in the recruiting department since Jim Harbaugh departed for the NFL and Sherrone Moore took over as head coach. While recruits haven’t been committing to the maize and blue, Michigan has been making plenty of top groups for some elite talent in 2025. A big part of that is the fact Moore hired some really good coaches and elite recruiters.

Recently, Michigan made the final four for four-star CB Mark Zackery IV. The Wolverines will have to fend off Notre Dame, Florida, and Cincinnati for Zackery.

Zackery, an Indianapolis (IN) Ben Davis prospect, is rated as the 135th prospect in the 2025 class — by the Composite rankings. He is the 16th-best CB and the No. 2 ranked recruit in the state of Indiana. Both of Zackery’s main recruiters at Michigan were Steve Clinkscale and Mike Hart, but neither are at the program any longer. New secondary coach LaMar Morgan will have to keep the pursuit on if Michigan can lure Zackery away from the home state school, Notre Dame.

There are currently two predictions in for Notre Dame to land Zackery, but there is still plenty of time for the Wolverines to close the gap. The Ben Davis stud was a two-way player seeing snaps at CB and WR, but he projects the best at CB when he goes to college.
