The Indianapolis Colts picked up the fifth-year option on former Michigan football defensive star, Kwity Paye. The former 2021 first-round pick will stay with the Colts through at least 2025.
Paye had an outstanding season with the Colts during the 2023 campaign in which he set some personal bests. He had 52 tackles, 8.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and played the most games he has in any NFL season — 16. With Indianapolis exercising Paye’s option, he will now make $13.387-million in 2025. But will make just over $4-million this upcoming season.
Colts’ defensive coordinator Gus Bradley had plenty of praise for Paye. He, along with the Colts, hope to have Paye around for a very long time.
“You talk about trust, right? There’s a man that you trust,” said Bradley. “On the edge, does things right, comes to work every day, you know what you’re going to get, highly respected by all of his teammates and I believe, and I think all of our coaches and even this organization – there is another level for him,” Bradley told reporters Wednesday.”
Paye played for Michigan from 2017-2020. He had 100 career tackles and 11.5 sacks with the Wolverines.
