PFF College proved earlier this week that Michigan football is offensive line university by having the most offensive linemen on current NFL rosters.
PFF is continuing with its count by showing which colleges have the most linebackers on current NFL rosters and the Wolverines come in at No. 2 behind LSU. The Tigers have eight linebackers in the NFL currently and Michigan has six — one above rival Ohio State.
The Wolverines have been fantastic on defense under Jim Harbaugh, especially in the past three seasons with Mike Macdonald and Jesse Minter as defensive coordinators. A few weeks ago, the Wolverines had Junior Colson (LA Chargers) and Michael Barrett (Carolina Panthers) get selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. Colson is widely expected to become a Day 1 starter for the Chargers, while Barrett should become an instant special teams contributor right away.
Besides Colson and Barrett the Wolverines also have David Ojabo (Ravens), Josh Ross (Ravens), Devin Bush (Browns), and Cameron McGrone (Colts) who are currently listed on NFL rosters.
It’s expected Michigan might add two more to that number in 2025. Juniors Jaishawn Barham and Ernest Hausmann are both getting some love on mock drafts and if all goes right, the Wolverines would have two more linebackers get selected in the ’25 NFL Draft.
