While he never made an impact for Michigan, former linebacker Hayden Moore announced he would be staying in the Big Ten in hopes of gaining a valuable role on defense. The 2023 three-star recruit said he would be joining the Washington Huskies for the 2024 campaign.

The Washington Huskies have a new-look staff after losing to Michigan in the title game last year. Arizona coach Jedd Fisch is now running the program and the Huskies lost a ton of talent. Moore must feel like he has a shot at seeing valuable playing time in 2024.

The Aurora (CO) Regis Jesuit native committed to Michigan over Nebraska and Iowa State last year but didn’t appear in any games for the Wolverines during their national championship run. Moore was one of three linebackers to leave Ann Arbor during the spring transfer portal cycle. He joined freshman Jeremiah Beasley and 2023 four-star Semaj Bridgeman to transfer away.

Michigan hasn’t received any commitments at linebacker via the portal to replace any of the three, but the Wolverines are still looking to add talent. The Michigan staff feels pretty good at LB with starters Ernest Hausmann and Jaishawn Barham. Backups Jimmy Rolder and Jaydon Hood have been impressive as well. Freshman Cole Sullivan was extremely good during spring camp.
