Michigan football entered the spring transfer portal in need of some wide receiver and secondary depth. The Wolverines gained a couple of wide receivers recently in Youngstown State’s C.J. Charleston and Amorion Walker came back to Ann Arbor after spending a few months at Ole Miss. The general belief is that Walker will shift back to WR after spending his sophomore season at defensive back at Michigan.
But the Wolverines are still searching for some secondary help. Michigan will be without star safety Rod Moore for quite some time after he suffered an injury. Michigan also lost Keon Sabb and DJ Waller Jr. to the transfer portal. While the Wolverines are happy with their starters, depth is needed.
Michigan has already reached out to Texas A&M safety Jacoby Mathews and Michigan State safety Jaden Mangham is set to visit Ann Arbor.
You can add another name to the list. Former Texas cornerback Terrance Brooks will be visiting Michigan next week, according to 247 Sports’ Matt Zenitz.
Brooks was the 83rd-ranked recruit in the 2022 cycle and has played two seasons with Texas. Last season, he had 20 tackles and three interceptions for the Longhorns. Brooks was Big 12 Honorable Mention in ’23 as a sophomore.
It appears the Wolverines are serious about adding some depth to the secondary and with a few players setting up visits, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Michigan land somebody in the coming weeks.
