Most eyes are currently on what the Wolverines are going to do in the transfer portal. Michigan is currently in on a few top transfer targets and Sherrone Moore and Co. have been reaching out to more. Currently, Michigan is expected to host Michigan State safety Jaden Mangham and Texas cornerback Terrance Brooks.
While the transfer portal is the new age of college football, high school recruiting remains important and Michigan currently has just five commitments for the ’25 cycle. Even though the Wolverines haven’t been getting many commits, Michigan has been making some top groups and getting some big-time players to visit Ann Arbor.
You can add safety, Jordan Young, to the list of elite players looking into Michigan. He announced on Saturday that he will be taking an official visit to the Wolverines. He plans on visiting the campus from June 21-23.
Young has a final group of Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Michigan, NC State, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.
The 6-foot safety out of Monroe (NC) is one of the top defensive backs in the 2025 cycle. According to the Composite, he is the 45th-ranked player overall and the No. 4 safety.
If the Wolverines are going to solidify a commitment from Young, they will need to beat out the presumed favorite in Clemson. There are two predictions on 247Sports for Young to commit to the Tigers. But when you look at the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, most of the schools are bunched together. Clemson has a small lead with a 24.7% chance to land Young.
Michigan secondary coach LaMar Morgan has been in the driver’s seat in recruiting Young to Michigan.
