It seemed like Michigan was the most logical choice here, but the Wolverines lost out to LSU for transfer portal target Jay’viar Suggs on Wednesday.

The 6-3, 295-pound defensive tackle out of Grand Valley State has two years of eligibility remaining, and was offered by plenty of big-time programs in need of defensive line depth – including LSU, Florida State, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
Suggs, a Flint (MI) native, played two seasons with GVSU, totalling 42 tackles, 14.5 TFLs, and eight sacks.
For Michigan, it’s back to the drawing board as the Wolverines look to add more pieces via the portal – primary on the defensive line and in the secondary.
