Michigan has some hills to climb in order to land 2025 four-star running back Jordon Davison, but the Wolverines are clearly in the hunt for one of the top running backs in the ’25 cycle. Davison announced a final four that included Michigan, along with Alabama, Oregon, and Ohio State.
Recently, Davison locked in some key official visit dates and he will come to Ann Arbor on June 7. He will take a visit to Alabama on May 31, Oregon on June 14, and Ohio State on June 21.
The Santa Ana (CA) Mater Dei running back is considered the 95th-overall prospect and the No. 7 RB in the 2025 cycle, according to the Composite rankings. Davison wasn’t really considering Michigan until the Wolverines landed former Ohio State running backs coach Tony Alford who got Michigan in the hunt for Davison.
While it’s great that Michigan is in the final group for such an elite prospect, Ohio State is the team to beat. The Buckeyes are projected to land Davison on both 247Sports and On3. With Ohio State getting the last official visit, that doesn’t bode well for the other teams either for a last impression. But it’s notable that Davison is giving Michigan a chance and the Wolverines need to make a huge impression if they are going to land one of the top-tier running backs in the ’25 class.
Michigan currently has five commits in the 2025 class and none at the RB position.
