When the countdown officially begins, you realize just how close the college football season really is. The Michigan Football Twitter (X) account began the countdown on Thursday morning.

We are now just 100 days away until Michigan football is back in the Big House to take on Fresno State in a primetime matchup.

Speaking of the number 100, how about those 100 points Ohio State’s head coach Ryan Day vowed to beat Michigan by?

Back in 2020, after Day and Jim Harbaugh got off of a conference call with Big Ten coaches — during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic — following a feud between the two coaches, Day reportedly told his team that Michigan better hope there is a mercy rule because Ohio State was “going to hang 100 on them.”

The Buckeyes and Wolverines didn’t end up playing in 2020 due to COVID-19 decimating the Wolverines’ football program. But those magic words that Day said, which was confirmed by ESPN, didn’t resonate well.

Michigan would end up beating Ohio State the next three seasons and go on to win the Big Ten title in those three seasons. In fact, Ohio State hasn’t scored 100 points in those three games — the Buckeyes have 74 points in three games against the Wolverines.

The Wolverines are coming off of a national title and Michigan has 100 days to prepare to run it back.
