It was trending toward guard Nimari Burnett coming back to Ann Arbor for another season and to play for new coach Dusty May, but we were waiting on Burnett to officially withdraw from the 2024 NBA Draft.

According to insider Jon Rothstein, Burnett has done so and he will now officially be back in Ann Arbor in 2024 for the Wolverines.

The 6-foot-4 graduate student is entering his second season with Michigan. Burnett originally played for Texas Tech before he played with Alabama. He started all 32 games for the Wolverines last season and averaged 9.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and shot a career-high 34.7% from 3.

Michigan has a new-look roster under May, but between guys like Burnett, Will Tschetter, and Jace Howard all set to return, there is a small part of familiarity in the basketball program. Burnett will battle a few transfers to start for the Wolverines in ’24, but regardless, he should see a ton of minutes as a 3-and-D type of player.
