Sherrone Moore was one of the guest speakers during a Detroit-area football camp this morning, and he delivered one hell of a speech to the hundreds of kids in attendance. After his speech, he met briefly with members of the media who were in attendance and provided some key updates on a couple of players.
QB Jack Tuttle

“He’s throwing, he’s full speed, and he’s rolling. He looked good. Saw him a couple of days ago, just peeking out of my office, saw him throwing a little bit. He’s up to speed and he’s ready to go.”
Tuttle missed most of the spring with an undisclosed injury, but he returns to Michigan in 2024 as the most experienced QB of the group – by far. He looked solid during the spring game heading into the 2023 season, and was pretty efficient in limited reps for the Wolverines last year – competing 15-of-17 attempts for 130 yards and 1 touchdown.
Although junior quarterback Alex Orji seems to be leading the race for QB1 following the spring session, there’s no question that Jack Tuttle will play a significant factor in that starting battle when fall camp kicks off in a couple of months.
WR Amorion Walker

“Yeah, he’s going to play wide receiver. He went to Ole Miss and reached out to people, players. I heard rumblings before, but I said I can’t talk to him. He went into the portal and it was something we knew we wanted to pursue.”
Michigan fans had high hopes for former wideout turned defensive back Amorion Walker heading into the 2023 season. Former U-M head coach Jim Harbaugh spoke highly of Walker as he made the transition from offense to defense, and videos circulating social media highlighted his athleticism and speed. Ultimately, Walker never worked himself into the lineup defensively, and ended up entering the transfer portal shortly after the Wolverines won the National Championship in January.
After just a couple of months down at Ole Miss, Walker clearly had a change of heart and began to explore a potential return to Michigan. Not long after he entered the portal, he announced that he was indeed making his return to Ann Arbor. The biggest question surrounding his return was whether or not he was coming back as a defensive back or a wide receiver. On Thursday, Moore provided an answer to that question – one that most fans were hoping to hear.
