Former Director of On-Campus Recruiting, Christina DeRuyter, announced on social media on Monday night that she would be leaving the Wolverines’ program and heading out West with Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers. DeRuyter will be heading to the NFL after spending three seasons with Michigan, her first year in 2021. DeRuyter announced she would be taking on the role of Director of Football Logistics with Los Angeles.
It appeared DeRuyter’s role was going to change once Sherrone Moore became head coach. He hired Kayli Johnson — the sister of Will Johnson — for the same role. According to DeRuyter’s Twitter account, she was going to be the Director of Football Operations at Michigan.
By all accounts, DeRuyter did a fantastic job doing on-campus recruiting for Michigan under Jim Harbaugh. A ton of success went to DeRuyter for the wins the Wolverines’ got on the recruiting trail.
Moore recently hired seven new recruiting analysts and it appears recruiting has really changed under coach Moore.
